Exploring the essentials of acting for CAMERA. The workshop helps to develop an actor’s confidence and teach them the art of characterization, understanding the basic principles of screen performance, art of giving effective auditions, anchoring for stage and screen.
The essentials of actor’s craft include:

Exploring infinite possibilities of the self and rediscovering the artist within with fresh perspective. Functioning with the inner source of inspiration, and preparing oneself as a sensitive artist and an intelligent professional.

Developing the free flow of imagination to make the performance truthful, believable & gripping.

Understanding and strengthening ones Voice & Speech for screen production, the key tools for effective communication & flawless performance. Getting to know the technology of sound recording and its relation with natural voice.

Working with the script and it’s multilayered elements & nuances; text, sub text, word, meaning, pauses, silence & listening, tone of the narrative, background of your character, depths of relationship with other characters and so on.

Face to face is a unique method that can enable one to become a fearless, inventive, imaginative and truthful actor.

Face to face is about-facing yourself, your other self, your society, your environment and the character you are to perform.

In the workshop one learns about a Alok Ulfat’s ‘AVIKAL KRIYA’ literally translated means indivisible process, an approach he has evolved over 30 years. One works with the Five Elements in developing characterization and Scene Work.

The workshop does not have a vertical learning approach but one learns from everyone present in the workshop.

Actors must not be self-centered.But by mirroring each other
one can find ones true self . Avikal dynamic process gives ample
opportunities to fully engage in self exploration without isolating.
