Alok Ulfat is a cultural worker, teacher, writer, poet, theatre practitioner, and Mentor for many young aspirants, is the founder of Avikal ‘Initiative for life and Active learning’. As a teacher he is engaged with many initiatives, working in the field of  actors pedagogy and practices of learning, creative - education, child welfare, environmental awareness, social work, theatre and its allied arts and special education.

 Alok Ulfat  received his M.A in English literature In Dehradun, India. He studied speech & drama and completed his teacher training at Emerson College, England ( 4 years).

As an extensive traveler, he has taught in schools, conducted workshops, acted and directed in India, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Canada, Thailand and Malaysia.

 

Alok Ulfat Centre for Performing Arts - AUCPA , Avikal Theatre Company and Rang Himalaya festival are the out come of Alok Ulfat`s many years of soul searching, widespread adventures and studying in various centers for learning. He has served at the National School of Drama (TIE) - New Delhi, and at the Film and Television Institute of India- Pune.

He founded Avikal – Centre for Art and Culture in Dehradun in the north India, which is fully functional. Presently he is working to create performing arts school based on his findings in Mumbai. Alok is engaged in designing, conducting and developing courses for actors, teachers, social workers and memebers of the corporate sector.  

 

Alok Ulfat continues his journey as a passionate learner and a teacher and wishes to contribute to a  greener, diverse and united planet.
